Aurora City Park
   Located at the south end of Aurora, the 14 acre City Park features pavilions for hosting family gatherings, play ground equipment, walking trail and a tractor & truck pulling track.


Jakway Forest Park and Campground
   Located just one mile south of Aurora is the historic Richardson-Jakway House, grounds and forest. This 250 acre County Park features a campground, shower house, RV dump station, fishing, wildlife observation blind, hiking trails, playground and a 9 hole disc golf course. The Buffalo Creek Golf Course is a 10 minute drive from the campground.

Backbone State Park
   Located 9 miles east of Aurora is the Backbone State Park. This 2000 acre park features boat rentals, boat ramp, trout fishing, hiking trails, rock climbing, playground, picnic shelters, outdoor auditorium, beach lodge, concessions, modern & non-modern restrooms, showers, family cabins, campsites, RV dump station and the Iowa Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) museum.

Aurora Comet Center
The Center features full sized indoor basketball & volleyball courts, weight lifting equipment,  concession area, childrens bounce house and an upstairs meeting room with kitchenette. Available for rent by the hour or the day for family gatherings, auctions, garage sales, bags tournaments.


Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration
